You don’t need to replace a good towel just because another year has passed. Replace it when the fabric is worn out, the seams are failing, or it no longer does its job comfortably after proper care.
Our towels are designed for years of everyday use. A little attention to washing, drying, and rotation helps you get the most from the set you love.
Look at condition, not just age
Check for thinning areas, holes, frayed edges, and seams that are coming apart. Think about how the towel feels in use, too. If it’s clean and properly rinsed but no longer gives you a comfortable dry-off, it may be time for a fresh set.
Some towels work hard in a busy family bathroom; others spend most of their time waiting for guests. It makes sense that they won’t all need replacing on the same schedule.
Give manageable problems a fair chance
A little lint during a new towel’s first washes is different from fabric wearing through. Our zero-twist towels usually shed less after the first two or three washes.
A stiff towel deserves a look at the laundry routine. Check detergent dose, load size, and drying settings. If softeners or dryer sheets are in the routine, leave them out. Our stiff-towel checklist walks through those steps.
A single loose loop also doesn’t mean the whole towel is finished. Carefully trim a projecting strand without pulling it. If a seam is opening or the fabric is unraveling, contact us.
Build a routine that treats towels well
Wash Bamboo and Waffle cold, Chevron and Organic warm, and tumble dry low. Use gentle detergent and avoid bleach, fabric softeners, and dryer sheets.
Hang towels open between uses and store them only when fully dry. Rotate your supply so the same few pieces aren’t handling every shower and every load of laundry.
Keep a useful second life in mind
A clean towel that has lost its place in the bathroom can still be handy for household cleanup or drying muddy paws. Save a few for those jobs if you’ll use them; you don’t need to keep every worn towel.
