• Zero-twist fibers are more delicate: Zero-twist cotton uses longer, softer fibers that aren’t twisted for strength like normal yarns. This gives the towel its super soft, fluffy feel — but it also makes the fibers more vulnerable to chemical damage. Bleach can weaken or break down these delicate fibers much faster than regular cotton yarns.

• Organic cotton isn't chemically treated: Organic cotton hasn’t been treated with the same chemical stabilizers or synthetic resins that conventional cotton sometimes gets. This makes it less resistant to harsh chemicals like bleach, meaning it can thin out, fray, or yellow even more easily after repeated bleaching.

• Bleach shortens lifespan significantly: Even on white towels, repeated bleach use will cause fiber erosion, making your organic zero-twist towels lose softness, absorbency, and structure. They’ll wear out, get holes, or turn rough much faster than they should.

• Natural yellowing can occur: Ironically, bleaching can actually cause organic cotton to yellow over time, not stay bright white. Without heavy chemical treatments to buffer the cotton, oxidation from bleach can create a dull or yellowish tint after a few washes.
