Yes. Wash your new Alusa Home towels before first use to prepare them for everyday use and reduce loose lint. Follow the collection-specific care instructions below.

Bamboo & Waffle: Machine wash cold with a gentle detergent.
Chevron & Organic: Machine wash warm with a gentle detergent.
Do not bleach, including white towels. Avoid fabric softeners, wash with similar colors, and leave room for towels to move in the machine. Follow the sewn-in care label.

Tumble dry on low heat and avoid overdrying. Skip dryer sheets, which can leave a coating that reduces absorbency. Let towels dry completely before folding or storing them.

A small amount of loose lint is normal on new zero-twist towels and usually decreases during the first 2–3 washes. If heavy shedding persists or you notice thinning, contact hello@alusahome.com.

Do not pull a loose loop. Carefully trim a projecting thread with scissors without cutting the surrounding fabric. If a seam is opening or the towel is unraveling, contact us for help.

Products containing benzoyl peroxide can remove color from fabric. Rinse skincare residue from your hands before using a towel. White towels can make color loss less noticeable, but still follow our no-bleach care instructions.

All Alusa Home collections are OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certified, meaning the textiles are tested for harmful substances against the standard’s criteria. Our Organic Collection also uses 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton. OEKO-TEX certification does not mean a towel is organic or guarantee an individual skin response. Contact us if you need certification details for a particular collection.

GSM means grams per square meter: the weight of fabric over a fixed area. Our plush Bamboo, Chevron, and Organic collections are 700 GSM; Waffle is 450 GSM and intentionally lighter. GSM alone does not determine quality or drying speed; fiber, weave, size, airflow, and humidity also matter.

Drying time depends on the collection, towel size, humidity, and airflow. Waffle offers a lighter construction for those who prefer less bulk. After use, spread towels out on a bar or rack, improve ventilation, and let them dry fully before reuse or storage. If a towel smells musty, wash it according to its care label and check that it dries completely.

Our towels are designed for years of use with proper care, but lifespan varies with use and laundering. Look for persistent thinning, fraying, holes, or declining performance rather than replacing on a fixed schedule. Contact us if a new towel develops a problem.

Waffle post-wash measurements: bath towels: 56 × 27 inches; hand towels: 30 × 16 inches; washcloths: 13 × 13 inches. Your towels arrive oversized to allow for natural waffle-weave shrinkage.

Choose a texture and laundry routine that feel comfortable for you. Our towels are OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certified, but no textile certification guarantees suitability for every person’s skin. Wash before first use, avoid fabric softeners and dryer sheets, and pat dry gently. For a diagnosed skin condition, follow your clinician’s advice.

Our Organic Collection uses GOTS-certified organic cotton. Orders ship in recyclable cardboard packaging with a secondary protective bag made from recycled plastic. Check local recycling guidance. These are specific material and packaging choices; OEKO-TEX testing for harmful substances is a separate certification.

If you are not satisfied, you may return your product for a full refund within 120 days of purchase, or request a free replacement for defective items. Refunds require returning all original contents. Defective items may still qualify for replacement under our warranty program up to 180 days after purchase.
